It is the end of the sixth month, and things are looking good. There are new reviews for We Bury the Landscape: Hayes Moore at A cappella Zoo Rachel Joy at Kill Me If I Stop a reader's review over at Goodreads and a 2-star here (scroll down, scroll down). My story, "The Chinese Zodiac," in Charles Tan's Lauriat: A Filipino-Chinese Speculative Fiction Anthology, was called "exquisitely crafted" by Publishers Weekly. Kudos to writerly folks, Christine V. Lao and Paolo Chikiamco, whose stories were also favorably mentioned. Chikiamco, by the way, wormed his story all the way to the VIP lineup of a VanderMeer anthology. Lauriat: A Filipino-Chinese Speculative Fiction Anthology is forthcoming in August and is available for preorder via Amazon. These lovelies also arrived in the mail.
Dadaoism (An Anthology), which can be pre-ordered from Amazon, is awesome, awesome, awesome! This is from the hysterical "Noises," a story by Joe Simpson Walker: The farting. That was what had finally done it, that's what drove him to desperation: when she started farting on purpose to torment him.

I hope that you have written all the stories left in you, all the stories that you wanted to tell. And even if you hadn't managed to, what you left behind was more than enough. I was a kid when I found you, or you found me. It was "Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed," my first Ray Bradbury story. I remembered that the book pages smelled of damp newsprint. I remembered having to look up some of the words in the dictionary. In many ways, you taught me how to read, to hope, to wonder. With you, nobody ever really grows old; it's just the body, that faulty mechanism with an expiration date. I grieve alongside the generations of writers and readers whom you've touched with your wonderful stories. And I am also very thankful. If I had lived before you were born, I would not have read your stories. I'm grateful for living in this time when that is possible. It has been a wild ride, one hell of a spin-cycle in the "happiness machine." Thank you, kind sir.
